Regional AmCham Network exchange visit and investment attraction mission to Gulfood Dubai and EXPO 2020

Within the framework of the Regional AmCham Network initiative, sponsored by USAID and FGI, a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan along with AmCham Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, visited Dubai to attend the largest Food & Beverage (F&B) sourcing event in the middle east – the Gulfood Trade Show. The AmCham delegation included 18 representatives from 15 top regional F&B companies such as local producers, processors and major distributors in the food and beverage industry.

Aside from the Gulfood visit and sectoral meetings, this three-day business exchange in Dubai included meetings and collaboration talks with AmCham Dubai that started with a small AmCham Networking Event, where representatives from each country delegations (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan) met with members and Managing Director of AmCham Dubai – Cara Nazari to establish member-to-member links between Dubai and Central Asian business owners.

On both February 15th and 16th, the delegation visited the “Gulfood Trade Show”, where companies had the opportunity to explore the latest consumer trends, market insights, innovations and technologies impacting F&B industry and identify new potential suppliers. Each year “Gulfood” gathers more than 5,000 companies from 120 countries to unite the food and beverage communities from around the world to not only mobilize global food trade, but also shape a more resilient, future-forward industry.

Additionally, on day two the AmCham delegation visited the EXPO 2020 where the group had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Arab Emirates – Abdilatif Jumabaev, who stressed on the importance of expanding the mutually beneficial relations between Central Asia countries and UAE in the field of trade and attracting local investors to the CA market.

The trip to Dubai successfully concluded with an AmCham Regional B2B Networking Event, which brought together all the representatives of the delegation to share views on the Gulfood Trade Show participation, exchange ideas and sign joint export and supply projects between the Central Asian regions and conclude an agreement on future multilateral cooperation.
