FMCG Online Round Table with UzATR

On February 4, 2022, AmCham FMCG committee members organized an Online Round Table with delegation of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation.

FMCG committee members such as Mars Wrigley, Nestle and Coca Cola companies had an opportunity to discuss the issues of food safety and food labeling directly with representatives of UzATR: Alisher Dodoev, Head of the Department for the Development of Certification and Laboratory Complexes; Abdullahon Orifboev, Head of the International Cooperation Department; Ulugbek Muhitdinov, Head of the Office for Standardization and Coordination of State Supervision; Dilshod Hodjikariev, Head of the Technical Regulation Department and Botir Allaev, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation.

The meeting was focused on discussion of food safety and labeling issues, required in Republic of Uzbekistan:

• Color coding on the front of the package
• Requirements for the safety of food additives, flavors, biologically active food additives and technological aids
• Safety of milk and dairy products
• Safety of confectionery

At the end of the meeting, participants reached an agreement to intensify bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation in discussed areas.
